Swig 32

Oct 27, 2023

I’m a sucker for a great-looking tumbler. Glass, double-walled, insulated stainless—you name it, I own it. In fact, I’m happier sipping from a tumbler than any regular glass (and certainly more than a single-use plastic cup). But I’m happiest when I have my trusty Swig Life Triple-Insulated Tumbler in hand.

The Swig Tumblers aren't just practical—they're also easy on the eyes.

The funny thing about my devotion to my Swig tumbler is the fact that it came about entirely by happenstance. You see, I’ve spent hours, days and sometimes even weeks mulling over which tumbler to buy and wondering which is truly worth it. I researched and read endless reviews before adding a Yeti Rambler to my ever-growing collection of drinking vessels. I did the same before purchasing a Corkcicle Tumbler, and I definitely did so before making room in my cabinet for a Brumate Imperial Pint. My Swig tumbler, however, popped up in a moment of need. There was simply no time to sort through all the pros and cons of this new drinking vessel.

It was Thanksgiving 2021 and I was traveling; when I arrived to my destination, I realized that I’d left my trusty tumbler at home. Knowing I wanted to stay as hydrated as possible while on the road, I headed to a local boutique that was quite literally in the middle of nowhere—and to my absolute surprise, the tiny shop delivered in a big, big way. It was filled with adorable clothing, accessories and—sure enough—tumblers. Considering the holidays are my absolute favorite time of year, I was immediately drawn to a red-and-green sweater-inspired tumbler that's since sold out—especially because there was a set of straws that matched it.

No more condensation rings: The Swig Tumbler comes with a built-in silicone coaster.

It wasn't just the cheerful print that caught my eye, though. The Swig Triple Insulated Tumbler feels heavy-duty to the touch, but it's not heavy. It just feels much sturdier than the other tumblers that fill my cupboards. What's more, despite being a whopping 32 ounces (a big selling point, seeing as most tumblers only go up to 30 ounces), the tapered design of the tumbler makes it particularly easy to hold. I find that, comparatively, the 30-ounce Yeti is much more cumbersome. Another key characteristic that sets the Swig Tumbler apart? It comes with a built-in silicone coaster, so it never clanks when you set it down, nor does it leave rings of condensation in its wake. As for the lid, it can be used as a slide top for coffee or other hot beverages, or it can be paired with one of the matching straws (let it be known, though, that the straws are sold separately—but they do come with a handy cleaning brush).

Note, too, that the Swig Tumbler can be used with hot or cold beverages—in fact, it will maintain their respective temperatures for hours on end. That's why, ever since I first purchased one of these nifty glasses, they’ve practically become an extension of myself—they really do go everywhere I go, year-round. Needless to say, I’ve never been more hydrated in my life. Now, I’m just eagerly anticipating the brand's 2022 holiday-themed drops. The Halloween Hocus Pocus print just launched, for instance, and it's already in my cart. If only a Grinch-themed option were to arrive next...
