It's time to upgrade your space!

When it comes to chores, laundry is at the bottom of the list because it's as tedious as it is time-consuming. That said, a few laundry room organization hacks may cut the hours we spend washing, drying, and folding our clothes in half. From magnetic lint holding bins that attach to the side of the dryer to wall-mounted fold-out drying racks, there are a lot of clever finds out there.

We’ve rounded up the best of the best that will actually make you look forward to laundry day. Not only will these gadgets, wares, and systems streamline your process, but some will even spruce up your space. Whether you’re dealing with a washer-dryer combo tucked in the corner of the bathroom or a full-fledged laundry room, you may as well enjoy yourself as you get through your chores list. Who knows? After implementing a few of these laundry room organization ideas, laundry day may soon be your favorite day of the week.

When it comes to outfitting your designated laundry area, style is as important as function. After all, if you’re going to spend a significant amount of time there, you may as well enjoy the view. So whether that means installing some peel-and-stick wallpaper, swapping out boring drawer pulls for glossier alternatives, or painting the walls a punchy shade, it's time to reinvent your laundry room. Next up, opt for some of these nifty finds that not only save space and time but work as the perfect finishing touches.

When you don't have your trusty clothesline available or a dryer nearby, let a foldable hanger (otherwise known as a drop hanger system) fill in. You can hang it from just about anywhere: the bathroom shower head, the balcony railing, or the rod in the closet.

Looking for an easy way to get more storage without putting holes in your walls? Try adding a magnetic organizing rack to the side of your washer and dryer, which you can fill with everything from cleaning supplies to miscellaneous objects you don't want on the floor or counter.

This Shark Tank-approved item is certainly related to laundry room organization. Wad-free is a game-changing item that prevents your sheets from twisting and balling up. This way any bedding you place in your dryer can come out dryer, fresher, and with fewer wrinkles.

There's no need to choose between fashion and function when buying a hamper. After all, it's home to all of your dirty clothes, so you may as well make it pretty.

If you don't have a ton of closed storage space—or none at all—install a bath cabinet to house small cleaning products, like stain remover sticks, rags, and fabric fragrance sprays.

If you can't fit a whole trash can in your laundry room, get a magnetic lint bin. This one comes with a matching container for collecting lost pocket treasures that you don't want ending up in the wash, like keys, money, or headphones.

For delicates, hang-drying (versus tossing them in the dryer for a potentially fatal tumble) is the best course of action. That said, traditional drying racks take up a lot of space, and if your laundry room is on the small side, a sizable unit simply wont do. Enter this accordion drying rack that pulls out from the wall. There's no need to waste any valuable real estate on the floor with this thing.

Not only are refillable bottles good for the environment, but they're much more pleasing to look at than the original packaging laundry detergent, bleach, and softener all come in.

If you sort your laundry by whites, darks, and handwash-only items, you'll thank yourself later.

Unless you built your own home, the space between your washer, dryer, cabinets, and wall probably isn't exact. Make awkward gaps work harder with this narrow cart.

Or if the ceiling is a stretch, hang a wall-mounted drying rack instead. This one from Pottery Barn is just the right size, and you can easily fold it up when you've finished using it.

Not only does a wall-mounted organizer save valuable floor space, but it can also fit inside a closet if you don't have a dedicated laundry room.

Additional wall hooks will come in handy for hanging any knick-knacks, like shoe bags, or items that need to be sent to the dry cleaner.

Detergent drips are hard to avoid, but if they drive you crazy, elevate your Costco-sized bottle on this holder. It features a slight downward angle so no tipping is required when you're low on cleaner.

If you keep all your cleaning supplies and tools in your laundry room, make them easier to grab and keep things organized with a tool holder that mounts to the wall.

Portable, heat-resistant ironing pads are serious game-changers in tiny laundry rooms—even more so for those of us without laundry rooms at all. The genius of this particular ironing blanket is that you can easily roll it up and store it in a closet or bin after use.

This laundry room designed by Studio Life/Style feels dressier than most, thanks to the rich navy cabinets, elegant marble backsplash and floors, and wood grain ceilings. The farmhouse sink and sconce make it more approachable and also offer a more casual and useable workspace. But you know what helps the occupants stay organized? The seagrass baskets!

In this minimalist laundry room designed by Robson Rak, even the essential items are stylish. The black hangers accentuate the modern black ladder, which is both decorative wall art and a functional tool. When you have a narrow but tall laundry room, an easy-to-access ladder will definitely come in handy.

"I knew I wanted open shelving on one side to keep the room feeling airy," says designer Dina Bandman. Meanwhile, the 24-inch Bosch 800 series washer and dryer fit the narrow footprint of this San Francisco laundry room perfectly and allows room for a folding station above.

If your laundry room doubles as your mudroom, make it pet-friendly with built-in feeding bowls that can be easily tucked away when not in use. Jenn Feldman Design took the theme to the next level with dog-print wallpaper.
