It is not a statutory duty for the sites to take waste that isn't produced in the normal day-to-day occupation of a home. Certain waste from household maintenance and improvement or garden work is not legally regarded as normal household rubbish and a charge or disposal limit can be made.

The charges will be based upon the quantity of material deposited. Payment for bags* will be whole or multiple of bags.

£3 per bag or unit (e.g. a Shower Screen). You can pay with credit or debit cards, as we cannot accept cash or cheques.

*Charges are based on standard rubble bags which are approximately 76cm x 96 cm. They are available from DIY stores or you can buy them from the recycling centre for 10p. Waste can be presented loose or in different sized bags and charges will be estimated by staff.

Please note: these charges only apply to householders. They do not apply to trade waste which has a separate scheme.

A detailed list of items for each category, and whether they are charged for or not, is available on our charges page.

For large jobs such as building an extension, renovating a house or demolishing a wall will mean you have to hire a skip and pay for the removal/disposal of the material.
